       FREE ARTS OF ARIZONA

www.freeartsaz.org

Paradise Bakery & Cafe is dedicated to nourishing the hopes and dreams of Arizona's abused children by supporting and celebrating creativity and the arts in partnership with Free Arts of Arizona.

Free Arts is a well-respected non-profit organization that provides therapeutic art programs to abused, homeless and at-risk children.  Every year hundreds of volunteers visit group homes, foster homes and homeless shelters around Phoenix and help the children heal through participation in the arts.

By purchasing bottled water and a canvas bag at any Phoenix Paradise Bakery, you are helping to support Free Arts of Arizona.  Thank you to our AZ guests who purchased cookies in April for our Cookie for a Kid campaign.  Paradise Bakery & Cafe was able to present Free Arts of Arizona with a check for $59,087.67.

STARLINGS VOLLEYBALL

In 2005, 2006, 2007and 2008, Paradise Bakery has sponsored several volleyball teams comprised of Native American girls, ages 12 to 18, who live on reservations in Arizona. These teams are part of a national volleyball program, Starlings Volleyball Clubs, USA, that serves girls from low-income backgrounds.

Paradise Bakery sponsors teams from both Navajo and Apache tribes.  Many of these girls had rarely traveled off the reservation but because of the sponsorship, they are able to compete in Arizona Regional Volleyball tournaments throughout the state and also compete in the Starlings National Championship in San Diego.
